Asalamulaikum guys! This means may peace be upon you. This is what I always pray for you all, that when you come to read my experiences, and the lessons I have learned, you are able to take away some positivity and hope that will sprinkle into your lives.
I’m Isra. A Muslim American Pakistani woman, who is raising two beautiful children with her amazing partner and best friend. Here, I share my personal journeys through motherhood, careers, mental health struggles, and faith (just to name a few).
It’s a hard life. Period. And you know what? Majority of the time it’s hard because we make it out to be. You and me, we’ve been through a lot, right? Despite every struggle that’s thrown our way, we are able to get through it. Because struggles are temporary, and we’re pretty strong willed creatures, even in our darkest moments. We have come to learn that life is full of hard truths. It is messy at times. And that’s the reality. Reality isn’t what you see online, in social media. It’s here. It’s raw. Unedited. Yet, there’s so much beauty, love, and happiness in small everyday moments that can get lost in the chaos.
So even if you’re that one person that feels like your life is smooth sailing, unaffected by the waves of struggles pushing you down, I hope that you stay and spend a little bit of your precious time here. In the hope that we can share sentiments, experiences, and build ourselves up together by bringing more openness in conversation surrounding things many people may shy away from. These are the experiences that have helped me grow into who I am today, and shape who I will be tomorrow.
Sincerely, Isra
